Relaxation of Covid-19 Regulations
Dear Parishioners,
I am sure you are aware of the welcome news of the recent relaxation of the Covid-19 related regulations and restrictions.
After consulting with the Parish Pastoral Council, which has also doubled as the Covid-19 Group, we will soon begin to apply the changes as detailed in the Guidelines issued by the Diocese on 15th February.
In his cover letter to the Guidelines, Bishop Noel Treanor spoke of a “gradual and cautious approach, carefully considered and tailored to the needs of each parish.”
The most obvious change you will see, from Monday 21st February, is the removing of the tape that facilitated social distancing in the church during the past two years. You are now welcome to sit wherever you choose, but please utilise the extra seating to try to spread out as much as possible around the church. If you wish to sit in a less occupied seat please mention this to the steward as you enter the church and you will be seated in an appropriate place.
The Diocese “strongly recommends that face coverings be worn at all times while in the church and throughout liturgical celebrations, even when seated.” Hand sanitisers will be available for your use in the porch.
You will now be invited to come forward for Holy Communion as you did in former times.
These are just a few of the changes but others will be introduced later.
Wishing you and your family every blessing at this time,
Fr Peter
